DPR Construction
Matt O’Malley has 18 years of experience in the commercial construction industry; working for two of the largest general contractors in the United States during that time.
He currently leads the Preconstruction Group and the Commercial Market Sector for the Washington, DC office and Northeast Region of DPR Construction. Matt’s responsibilities include business development, client relationships, estimating, and preconstruction services for the Washington, DC market, as well as the greater northeast region from Richmond, VA to Boston, MA.
Nationally, Matt leads and coordinates DPR’s design assist, estimating, subcontractor procurement and contract awards for curtainwall and other exterior envelope trades for projects in the major markets served by DPR across the United States.
The exterior envelope has been an area Matt’s passion and focus for over 10 years. His goal is to work collaboratively with owners, designers, consultants and all stakeholders to find the best solution for the exterior wall on each project. In order to better serve DPR’s clients, Matt has worked to expand his understanding of the technical, market, legal, and business factors that drive exterior envelope industry. During this time, Matt has developed extensive relationships with all the major national curtainwall subcontractors and suppliers, as well as major design and consulting firms involved in the delivery of high performing envelopes.

Matt received a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from The Johns Hopkins University.
He is dedicated to teaching at the graduate school level; and has been doing so for nearly 10 years. Matt is an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University, and at the University of Maryland School of Architecture. Additionally, Matt has assisted in the delivery of graduate level courses and lectured at the University of Virginia School of Architecture and Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
Matt lives in Potomac, MD with his wife, Susan, and his two children, Andy and Ellie.
