Biography

Chris Stutzki heads STUTZKI Engineering, Inc. a small consulting and engineering firm for facades and glass in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He works mainly as a consultant to architects for their conceptual design of innovative glazed and lightweight structures, facades, and skylights. Stutzki and his team are members of the ASTM E1300 standards committee for glass, and the IASS working group for metal spatial structures. For 6 ½ years he was Studio Professor at the College of Architecture of the Illinois Institute of Technology, teaching facade technology and the understanding of structures. Before founding his own firm in 2004 he was chief engineer of the space-frame and glass enclosure company MERO in Germany and subsequently in the US. Stutzki holds a PhD in civil/structural engineering from the Technical University of Aachen, Germany.
