Thibaut Houette

Thibaut Houette is a French architect with experience in parametric design, sustainability and biomimicry. Captivated by natural designs, his various biomimicry research projects span from studying spider webs for tensile architecture and abstracting natural ecosystems for the organization of temporary events, to translating organisms’ strategies to improve water management in buildings. He is continuing his biomimicry for architecture research path through his Integrated Bioscience PhD at The University of Akron on ways to implement biological growth into architecture. In this regard, he is studying the use of myceliated material for building facades and abstracting root growth principles for building foundations.
