Biography

Sunny has 10 years of experience working in large- and small-scale architectural design firms in Chicago (Solomon Cordwell Buenz, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, Hirsch MPG, and Perkins and Will). She has a Master of Architecture degree from University of Cincinnati, and Bachelors of Science degree in architecture with High Honors from University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. She has a passion for Brutalist style buildings from her home country, the former Yugoslavia, and – thus – has recently embarked on PhD studies in Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Building Technologies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to research sustainable retrofit strategies for historically significant buildings of this building style and period.
