Biography
Steve Kemp, M.A.Sc., B.Sc., B.Eng., P.Eng. LEED® Fellow, is a Principal, Senior Energy and Sustainability Specialist, and Practice Area Leader for Energy and Sustainability at RDH Building Science Inc. He is a building science engineer specializing in energy modeling and low energy building design, and sustainability. He has assisted the design of dozens low energy buildings, including Passive House and Net Zero Energy and Zero Carbon Building projects. As these projects have been completed Steve is involved in monitoring their performance as well as troubleshooting their energy systems.
Steve has undergraduate degrees in Physics and Engineering as well as a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University. He is a registered professional engineer in Ontario, a director of the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance, a past-president of IBPSA-Canada, and a member and former chair of the Energy & Engineering Technical Advisory Group for the CaGBC. In 2014 Steve was presented with the CaGBC Green Building Champion Leadership Award and in 2017 he was awarded with his LEED® Fellow designation.
