Biography
Gerry Lang, OAA, AIA, TSA, FTI has over 40 years of experience in the creation and realisation of complex institutional, academic and residential/mixed-use projects at every phase from design through construction, practicing primarily in Toronto as well as 9 years in New York and a year in Philadelphia to earn a Masters degree at Penn. He has executed projects in several Canadian and eastern US cities, as Design Principal for 7 years with HOK NYC and a year as a Senior Consultant at Arup Facades. He returned to Toronto in 2009.
He is a Senior Associate at architectsAlliance (aA) in Toronto and currently heads the facade specialist group within the office, developing and ensuring the constructibility of the complex signature envelopes of aA’s high-rise residential and institutional projects, from schematic design to construction.
He is also active as an aA mentor and has taught as an adjunct at the University of Toronto and several US schools of architecture since 1987 as well as speaking at professional conferences, including the AIA National Convention in San Antonio (2007) and the Association for Preservation Technology Symposium in Boston (2009).
